Clear Image Weekly Radiographic Cleaner FAQ
Why should I use Clear Image?
Every automatic x-ray film processor needs to be cleaned to prevent costly retakes; lost film, film wrapping, smudged film and increase chemistry life. Clear Image is also 100% biodegradable and non toxic.
Is Clear Image safe for my processor?
Yes! Clear Image is safe and effective for all processors: Roller type, Web type, and transport type for bite wing x-rays.
Will Clear Image void my warranty?
No! Major manufactures know that the law protects you from such claims. Specifically: The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act states that no warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty on the use of any article or service which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name.
Can I use Clear Image to clean my rollers and tanks?
Yes. Clear Image removes developer, fixer oxidation and silver build up from all rollers, tanks, and transports. Clear Image will also clean stained counter tops, vinyl floors and yellowed view boxes.
How often do I use Clear Image?
Every major manufacturer of an automatic x-ray film processor recommends a weekly cleaning. Use Clear Image for your weekly and monthly cleaning. Process a clean-up sheet as the first film after each cleaning.
What are the directions for use?
Rinse the Rollers, transports and tanks with warm water. Foam Clear Image on with the foam applicator. Allow the foam to sit on the rollers and tanks for 3 to 5 minutes. For best results scrub with a green 3M Scotch Brite pad just like you use in the kitchen, yellow sponge and green pad.
Do I need the foam applicator?
Yes! The foam applicator eliminates the aerosol created by regular sprayers. The foaming action makes Clear Image work faster and 25% more effective.
Will the 3M Scotch-Brite pad scratch my rollers?
No. Rub lightly. Clear Image lubricates the surface with a concentration of surfactants.
Do you dilute Clear Image?
No. Clear Image works best without dilution.
Is a hazardous shipping fee required by the DOT for Clear Image?
No. Clear Image is 100% biodegradable and nontoxic. Only Cleaners that contain Sulfuric acid, Nitric acid chromates, require special handling. The UPS & Fed-X charge is $17.50 plus regular shipping for each shipment.
How many cleanings are in a quart?
There are 8 to 10 cleanings per quart.
How many cleanings are in a gallon?
There are 32 to 40 cleanings per gallon.
What is the cost of Clear Image?
The average cost per cleaning at suggested retail is about $3.50.
Will Clear Image stain my counter tops, walls or clothes?
No Clear Image is a clear liquid that will not stain. Spills should be rinsed with warm water.
Clear Image Weekly Radiographic Cleaner Instructions
1. Turn processor off and drain tanks.
2. Remove rollers from processor and place in wash sink.
3. Apply Clear Image generously to tanks and rollers with spayer nozzle set for foam action.
4. Wait 2-3 minutes, scrub rollers and tanks with non-abrasive pad, rinse thoroughly with warm water.
5. Return rollers to processor, refill developer and fixer solutions and turn processor on.
6. Process a new cleaning film.
- To clean fixer/developer spills and deposits, spray, wait 1 minute and wipe with damp cloth.
-Gloves and eye protection recommended.
-Do not mix with other chemicals.
CAUTION: Contains alkaline detergent. Do not take internally! If swallowed, drink 2 to 3 glasses of milk or water and contact physician immediately. Do not induce vomitting.
EXTERNAL: Flood with water then wash with vinegar.
EYES: Flood with water for at least 15 minutes. Call physician.
